Welcome to my first blog! As Human Resources Director at InfoTrust, I am usually always talking to people .. . .looking for the brightest candidates to join our team. I thought that I’d put together an outline of strategies when interviewing at InfoTrust. We will certainly be looking for more talented individuals to join our team in the coming year, so I wanted to set candidates up for success when they meet us. Here are ten ways to best prepare for your first interview at InfoTrust:
- Research Digital Marketing—we continually strive to be ahead of the curve in this ever-changing landscape so make sure you know some key terms—inbound marketing, Google analytics, SEO.
- Be Social—social media, that is. Check out our website, LinkedIn profile, Facebook page, Twitter, etc. And google yourself to see what your own digital footprint looks like. We will google you so make sure that you are still proud of those college YouTube videos.
- Think Agile. Do yourself a favor and look into Agile Marketing in Cincinnati. You’ll probably run across a good looking fella named Alex Yastrebenetsky. Here’s a hint—he’s an InfoTrust owner.
- Know Michael Loban—our other owner. Michael has a rich history of training and educating businesses on social media and digital marketing. Check out his presentation series and other speaking events before meeting him. It’s a great conversation starter!
- Prepare to meet the entire team. Seldom is the interview with just me although I will usually be your host. With our small, collaborative team, we usually try to give you at least a quick introduction to the entire team.
- Put together some questions. I love talking about all of the projects that we do. So, make my day and let me share what we have been up to. Remember, interviewing is a two way street so make sure we sell you on working here.
- Ask if we value training. Then, sit back and relax while I speak for hours on just how much.
- Bring some examples of your work. I typically put together a portfolio of our candidates that includes a traditional resume and online work samples. Let us see what we can look forward to when bringing you onto the team. We also love to hear about new ideas or innovative and interesting projects that you have enjoyed. Don’t be shy, bring it!
- Don’t expect a lot of bureaucracy. We are a small team and we pride ourselves on getting things done quickly. You’ll probably see some work getting done right on the spot.
- Be on time. You can get here whenever you want when you work here, but be on time for the interview. We’re busy. We might be busy eating free snacks or making coffee in our fancy new Kuerig machine, but that’s still busy. Plus, it helps us work better.
We are always interviewing so if you are looking for an internship or full time opportunity in digital marketing or website development, please email me your resume! We actually just hired a new intern from UC, Amin Shawki, so stay tuned for our next collaborative blog—how to find the perfect college internship.
