A Week in the Life of a Software Engineer

A Week in the Life of a Software Engineer

Hello there! I’m Zak, a recruiter here at InfoTrust. As a part of our new series, “A Week in the Life of,” where our recruiting team meets with various InfoTrusters to learn more about what a week in their role looks like, I was able to meet with a key member of our Discovery team.

I was excited to sit down with Senior Software Engineer Mike L to learn more about the layout and balance of his week. Mike plays a pivotal role for our Discovery team, and assists us with ensuring that we deliver prompt and reliable service to our clients!

Monday

9:30am – All-company town hall – The all-company town hall is how we kick off our week. We celebrate and welcome any new hires to the team, recognize birthdays and work anniversaries, get general company-wide announcements, and then dig into individual team updates. With InfoTrusters spread out throughout the world, it’s great to come together once a week to learn about what’s going on with each team in the company.

10:00am – Discovery Team meeting – The team reviews any new work for each team, walks through any potential delays, and forecasts completion of quarterly priorities.

11:00am – Mike works on developing solutions for client-based work. In addition, he mentors our junior engineers to ensure they are all set for work during the week.

3:00pm – This time is spent reviewing emails to ensure that all client requests are being managed and completed. He also ensures that all client meetings have the appropriate messaging and review of deliverables.
