A Week in the Life of a Software Engineer
Estimated Reading Time: 5 minutes

Hello there! I’m Zak, a recruiter here at InfoTrust. As an organization, InfoTrust has experienced tremendous growth in the last few years. As we continue to grow, I was curious to learn more about how that growth impacts our teams and what it means for our future. What better way to to get a firsthand view of what that growth looks like, than to sit down and chat with some of the key members of our team.

I was fortunate enough to speak with our very own Software Engineer Michael Stadtmiller. Michael plays a pivotal role for our product team by providing tremendous value in the evolution of our products and ensuring that we are assisting our clients navigate their paths into the next phase of privacy-centric data analytics.

When I sat down with Micheal, I was excited to dive a little deeper into what the future holds for the Product Team, as well as what his journey with the company has looked like so far. Through our conversation, I was able to gain valuable insight into our vision, what it means to be a member of the Product Team, and what InfoTrust truly means to him.

Q: What is your favorite part about working on the Product Team at InfoTrust?

A: People are the best part for me. I really enjoy being surrounded by talented people and accomplishing goals together. I love creating new things that are on the cutting-edge of evolution in the industry.

Q: How is InfoTrust different from other teams that you have been a part of in the past?

A: The largest difference is being treated like a partner in the work that I’m doing. Leadership brings you in based on your experience, they value you for who you are, and they provide you with the opportunity to drive that on your own. InfoTrust also prioritizes you as a person as much as a professional and that balance means a lot.

Q: Why would a software engineer want to join the InfoTrust team?

A: There is a tremendous amount of opportunity to assist with building out new privacy standards and that allows you to be on the cutting-edge of our industry. We are creating the change that we want to see in terms of privacy to create a safer internet. Seeing how leadership prioritizes the future allows us to work in environments that have not been created yet with encouragement to be leaders in our industry and our space. Whether it’s Python, Web3, or data science, you have the path to be an expert.

Q: What is the most interesting project that you have taken part in at InfoTrust?

A: I have really enjoyed being a part of the privacy-centric shift in our industry. In addition, I really enjoy assisting the end-users and our clients achieving their goals.

Q: If you could go back in time and tell yourself something about getting started at InfoTrust what would it be?

A: I really enjoyed my onboarding experience and don’t know that I would have changed a lot. One thing that I will say is that I wish I would have found InfoTrust sooner. They do a great job of aligning with my core values and that is always something that has been imperative for me.

Q: What is the most rewarding part of your job?

A: The most rewarding part of my role is working with the smartest people that I know—it’s really great to build and create new things. We all work together as a company with a common goal to make things better in the world.

Q: How would you describe the culture of the Product Team?

A: It is a space that allows you the creative freedom to pursue your passion. There is strong encouragement for innovation and growth. We are always seeking to assist team members become who they want to be professionally and personally.

Q: How would you describe the balance between development and client-facing work?

A: We develop to enhance the product which in turn assists our clients. We may not work with external clients day-to-day; however, we work with internal stakeholders to continue to drive client success forward.

Speaking with Michael really allowed me to see how passionate he is not only about InfoTrust and our industry, but also in the role that he plays in moving it all forward.
