Meet Stadt Stadtmiller, Our Software Engineer!

Estimated Reading Time: 2 minute

As a part of the Digital Media Team, I have the privilege of interviewing our awesome employees to hear a little about their time here at InfoTrust. Michael Stadtmiller, software engineer, has been part of the InfoTrust family for five months and is looking forward to many more years to come. It honestly feels that he has been here for years which illustrates how InfoTrust fosters such an inclusive environment. It’s been a great learning experience getting to know him and his past experiences. No doubt, he is geeky, but he strives to overcome the common myths about engineers by being very outgoing, active in the community, and showing his interests/passions outside of his job.

In the following article, I asked Michael a handful of questions to get to know him and the company better.

What is your background in the industry?

Michael Brings a Depth of Experience to InfoTrust

  • I started working at Duke Energy as an intern while I was studying at University of Cincinnati. Thereafter, I was offered a full time job there as Business Analyst/Developer and so I worked there for five years.

  • I spent 2 years at Children's Hospital as a software developer implementing MyChart - a website to allow parents to be more involved and connected with their child's outcome. This was one of the most rewarding experiences because I felt like I was giving back while working.

  • I gained valuable experience during my 5 years at Federal Equipment company as IT Manager. This was an amazing leadership opportunity for me to have high business impact and help bring analytics solutions to a family business.

  • I grew professionally during my 1 year at PPC Communications - a micro business with a strong SaaS product. I was a lucky enough to be brought on as a software developer and worked up to lead developer/dev-ops on the management team.

What are you up to now?

At InfoTrust, I am a Software Engineer working on TagInspector.com with a fantastically dedicated team with aspirations of world domination (in the analytic space, anyway). Outside of work, my family is #1 priority to me. I'm a husband and father of 2 kids. I love seeing my kids grow (especially in STEM areas) but I also love learning from their interests in music and art (I started taking up piano too)!

What is your favorite part about working at InfoTrust?

I can proudly say that my InfoTrust team is amazing and respectful of everyone. I honestly felt like I was friends with everyone since the first day. I align with our leader's vision about giving back, helping others and "making our success someone else's miracle". All the work we do here at InfoTrust, whether it's a part of my job or serving our community, leads to a visibly high impact. I feel that I am given the chance to be heard and help play a larger role in what makes us successful.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I help organize a cub scout troop for my son's school. I am a part of some development meetups, hackathons/startup weekends, and work on some side projects. I also play sand volleyball leagues when I can. The rest of my time is filled by chasing my kids around zoos, parks, schools, soccer fields, and other clubs they get involved in.

What core value of InfoTrust do you resonate with the most, and why?

Impact, Diversity, Respect, Innovate, Growth, and Ownership. I think every one of these values plays an important role that supports others. When one is lacking it can cause a ripple effect that can bring the culture down. Right now, I think the one that stands out above the others is Diversity: Be empathetic. InfoTrust is growing a culture that not only encourages but demands empathy, the ability to understand and share the feelings of another. It's refreshing to be a part of an organization that stresses the importance of diversity and empathy when it feels that it is lacking in the world right now.

What advice would you give to a prospective InfoTrust candidate?

I would highly recommend you to learn about our business, our products, our culture, and our clients' needs. Show how hard you can work to create results because we have an awesome culture which allows us to work hard to provide value for our clients. Show that you can do this and be respectful to others at the same time, as everyone here at InfoTrust strives to go above and beyond.

What is your spirit animal

Honey Badger. They are problem solvers, they don’t give up, and they can eat anything!!

If you could be any superhero, who would it be?

Iron Man! He creates his own superpower by engineering it himself. He isn't really restricted by an inherent weakness (like kryptonite) because if he were, he would just update his technology to overcome it. Moreover, he seems funny, which makes me want to be like him as I have always wanted to be funny (:
