Giving Back: InfoTrust Data Science Team Partners with the Sycamore Community School District

Sycamore Community School District (CSD) is a public school district located in the Cincinnati metropolitan area serving approximately 5,500 students. 

Sycamore High School offers students the option to participate in the Synnovation Lab, a blended learning experience that provides students with personalized and project-based learning. Because the Synnovation Lab provides an alternative to traditional schooling, the Sycamore CSD was interested in understanding if participation in the Synnovation Lab caused students to achieve differently on standardized tests compared to students who did not participate. The district did not have the resources to perform the complex statistical analysis needed to determine the impact of the Synnovation Lab so InfoTrust offered to help.

Thanks to partnering with InfoTrust and the InfoTrust Foundation, Sycamore CSD:

• Had data analyzed as a quasi-experimental design (QED)
• Understood if there was a statistical difference in academic outcomes and the impact of the Synnovation Lab that it didn’t have previously
