5 Reasons to Bring a Friend to Analytics That Excite

Estimated Reading Time: 4 minutes

You’ve purchased your Analytics That Excite ticket and read Andy’s 10 tips on how to get the most out of the conference. Now what?

Think back to the last conference you attended solo it’s more likely than not that you left feeling completely overloaded with information. So how does one avoid the unpleasant symptoms of drinking from the digital-analytics-fire-hose? Well after endless hours spent researching remedial strategies for information overload, I’m happy to report my findings: bring a friend and/or colleague.

The following is the top five preventative measures you can take to make sure you get the most of out of your conference experience. Or, if you want to be technical about it, I guess this list could also be titled, “Top 5 Reasons to Bring a Friend or Colleague to Analytics That Excite.”

1. Divide and Conquer

We have multiple breakout sessions that will have presentations running concurrently. With our rock star lineup of speakers, it’ll be near impossible to choose which session to attend. By bringing a friend and/or colleague, you can split up and exchange notes after the conference.

2. Network, Network, Network

They say Cincinnati is a village disguised as a city. So building a network of meaningful relationships and connections can be really powerful. I say meaningful because nobody likes a schmoozer.

In fact, I just attended a wonderful luncheon in which the keynote speaker discussed the importance of making authentic connections while networking. By bringing a friend to the conference you’ll be able to split up and meet more people but still have meaningful conversations.

3. Recruit

Analytics That Excite not only brings in some of the leading minds in digital analytics as speakers but also as attendees. The region’s top industry professionals will be sitting in the audience so this is a great opportunity for employers to spark up conversations about opportunities at their company.

Students from the region’s universities, specifically those in computer engineering, business analytics, and other related programs, will be in attendance. Use this conference to meet the talent that will be graduating in just a few months.

Students should bring a friend to learn about cool companies in town and what job opportunities and internships might be coming down the pipeline.

4. Learn

This conference is meant to both challenge and confirm your methodologies, strategies, and tactics. Students will find that some of the content challenges what they’ve learned in the classroom. That’s a good thing! They’ll also find themselves saying, “Oh, I remember Professor X referring to this last semester.†(This information also applies to those of you not from the Marvel Universe).

Startups and enterprises will find some of their current practices being challenged or validated by our experts make sure your colleague is there so you can high-five each other on the things you’re doing well on.

5. Get to Know a Colleague or Client Outside of the Office Setting

Use this as an opportunity to have conversations with your colleague or client in an environment without deadlines and details. Get inspired by the thought leadership presentations and get into a great brainstorming session with your colleague on the drive home. Or use this as an opportunity to REALLY express your thoughts on the Mad Men series finale. Let’s be honest, we’re all still trying to fill the Sterling Cooper Draper Price void in our lives.

Now is the time to get your procrastinating friends and colleagues to come with you! We can’t wait to see you AND your friends/colleagues next week.
