Hi there! I’m Aditya Raj Singhal, a graduate student at the University of Cincinnati, currently pursuing my MS in Information Systems. As an international student, I was eager to dip my toes into the American corporate world, and InfoTrust turned out to be the perfect place to start.
A New Adventure
Before landing this internship, I did my homework. InfoTrust isn’t as big as the larger corporations I had previously worked with. I wanted a change—something more intimate, where I wouldn’t just be a cog in the machine but could make a difference. Plus, InfoTrust operates in the marketing domain, which was uncharted territory for me. I knew they valued design, and that’s something I’m passionate about, too. So, I thought, why not give it a shot?
Just before my interview, I was in full-on research mode, binge-watching YouTube videos about Google’s marketing tech stack. I had no exposure to it before, but the more I learned, the more intrigued I became. I wanted to get some hands-on experience, and InfoTrust seemed like the perfect place to do that.
Finding My Passion
My role at InfoTrust was a bit of a blank canvas, which, looking back, was probably the best thing that could have happened. I started by getting familiar with Google Analytics (GA) and Google Tag Manager, even getting certified in GA along the way. But what I really appreciated was how InfoTrust encouraged me to connect with leaders across the organization. I got to explore various verticals and really figure out where my interests lie.
And guess what? I found my calling in Business Intelligence (BI). I spent a lot of time creating and refreshing dashboards, and I genuinely enjoyed it. The best part? I was surrounded by supportive individuals who allowed me to pursue what made me happy. I can confidently say that my skills in Looker Studio and data visualization have grown tremendously during this internship. I was proactive, reaching out to different teams and seeking out projects, and everyone was considerate enough to trust me with meaningful tasks.
More Than an Internship
Let me tell you, InfoTrust is a fantastic place to work. The culture here is top-notch; the people are some of the best you’ll ever meet; and the leadership is both approachable and inspiring. Even as the company has grown, they’ve managed to stay true to their core values and maintain a close-knit culture.
InfoTrust has some amazing benefits (free lunch, anyone?), and the Cincinnati office is a place you’d want to work from. The people here are always willing to help, and they made us interns feel like we were part of the family from day one. Whether it was a kickball game or an outdoor lunch, there was always something fun going on.
As my internship comes to an end, I can confidently say that I’d love to come back to InfoTrust in the future. My advice to future interns? Dive in, explore your interests, and make the most of this incredible opportunity. You won’t regret it.
