One of InfoTrust’s core values is to “Contribute with Passion,” and InfoTrusters did just that across four offices (Cincinnati, Chicago, Dubai, and the Philippines) this summer. InfoTrusters participated in a back-to-school backpack drive and successfully donated 208 bags to locally-identified organizations in need. The InfoTrust Foundation is committed to making a positive impact in the community and what better way to do this than to brighten a child’s day by surprising them with brand new school supplies handpicked just for them!
Corey Chapman, a Cincinnati-based employee, describes what it meant to him to be a part of that surprise.
“It makes me happy to think about one of the kids opening the bag and seeing a bunch of fresh school supplies,” he said. “I remember the feeling of a fresh pencil and notebooks growing up and it was fun to be a part of that happiness.”
Cincinnati’s office donated their supplies to The Bethany House, a family homeless shelter whose mission is to empower homeless and at-risk families with the solutions to achieve housing stability and long-term self-sufficiency.
Our Dubai office partnered with the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children (DFWAC), providing supplies for women and children seeking refuge from domestic abuse and trafficking. DFWAC is the first licensed non-profit shelter in the UAE for women and children victims of domestic violence, child abuse, and human trafficking. It was established in July 2007 to offer victims immediate protection and support services in accordance with international human rights obligations.
“As an InfoTruster, I feel a great sense of accomplishment by contributing to the InfoTrust Foundation’s community initiatives. This time, the Dubai team got together for the back-to-school initiative and we were able to pack school supplies for 48 children at the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children. The residents at DFWAC were very happy to receive it from us and the InfoTrust Dubai team looks forward to taking part in more such initiatives,” InfoTruster Nidhal Firoze said.
Chicago’s office donated their supplies to the Heartland Alliance Marjorie Kovler Center, an organization close to an InfoTruster’s heart. The center takes a trauma-informed approach to helping people impacted by or fleeing from violence.
“As a former employee and current volunteer of the Heartland Alliance Marjorie Kovler Center, the organization’s mission, the fantastic people, and their tremendous work have stuck with me over the years in a deep way,” said Federico Bianco. “I’m very grateful for the opportunity that my colleagues and I had to be able to take time out of our busy day to take perspective, refocus, and dedicate to donating for a great cause.”
Last but certainly not least, our Cebu office located in the Philippines donated to Camp Lapulapu Elementary School, a local school in need, with most of the enrolled children living in an impoverished state. InfoTrusters not only provided school supplies, but also included snacks and other fun items for the kiddos to enjoy. The school welcomed the Cebu office with open arms and a recognition ceremony. The joy on the children’s faces is something we will always remember!
InfoTruster Maria Macuto, the operations coordinator based in the Cebu Office, shared what this experience meant to her.
“We are so happy and privileged to be part of this one-of-a-kind experience to gather and pack school supplies for the children who need it the most. As Mother Teresa said, ‘It’s not how much we give, but how much love we put into giving.’”
