Analytics that Excite Intern
Communications at University of Cincinnati

I have worked at InfoTrust for almost three months now and in that short time I have already learned so much. I was hired to assist with our upcoming conference “Analytics that Excite” that takes place October 21st (buy your tickets today!) but I have had the opportunity to work on other projects within the company as well.

When I was asked to write a blog post about my time as an intern at InfoTrust, the first thing that came to mind was lunch. Yes lunch as in the second meal of the day. As Evan wrote in his previous post, lunch is a big deal around here (not to mention it’s free!) On a busy day at the office there can be up to 25 people in the office..that’s a lot of individual orders and a lot of people counting on you to bring back the correct food. When this job was passed on to me I knew there was a lot of responsibility that came along with it; Making sure the order is correct, that there is enough food, and that it’s on time even if this means putting the order in the night before are just a few to name. Although lunch seems like such an insignificant topic to discuss, it has helped me improve my time management. Like I stated earlier, knowing when to put the order in so it arrives on time and being able to schedule tasks around ordering and picking up the food can be a daily challenge in itself but it’s helped me get my priorities straight and reach my daily goals.

I’ve always had a passion for event planning. I like to pride myself in being a hard worker and extremely organized so in my personal life I always took control when it came to putting plans together for the weekend or setting up family vacations. When I was hired by InfoTrust to help plan a conference I was excited to learn more about the “behind the scenes” of event planning. There is so much that goes into these conferences that I would have never thought of but it has given me the chance to learn new skills such as promoting the event through social media, updating websites, and my professional writing (having to contact potential sponsors and speakers.)

InfoTrust believes in you and wants you to achieve. They give you projects and assignments and allow you to take the lead on it but are always there if you have questions or need a little guidance. It’s a great place to grow and find new talents you never knew you were capable of. You get a chance to work with people with such different backgrounds which makes InfoTrust an exciting place to be. Every day you learn something new, not only about the company but about the people who make it what it is.

I look forward to the rest of my internship and I’m excited to discover new talents that can be used in my future.
