Comprehensive tag and cookie consent auditing isn’t just evaluating what tags load and what cookies are set for users that broadly accept or reject consent. It also requires verification that tags and cookies in a specific category are the only trackers loading when users consent to only that option. Without the ability to audit individual consent conditions, organizations remain exposed to compliance risk due to mis-configured tags at the individual category level.

Auditing Tag & Cookies in Custom Consent Categories

Tag Inspector closes this gap with the ability to identify all unique consent conditions available on a website using their CMP, then automatically scan as a user simulating each condition. Tag Consent Policies are expanded to define allowed processing categories for each consent condition with audit reports including visibility to the tags and cookies loading in violation across unique condition states (performance only, essential only, etc).

How It Works

Within Tag Inspector, select to audit all unique consent conditions when configuring a Site to audit. Once selected, Tag Inspector will automatically identify the unique consent conditions available to users on the site and initiate scans simulating each condition uniquely. Consent Policies and Violations reporting reflect any violations of tags loading in violation of granular condition-specific standards.

Step 1

Select to include all unique consent conditions when adding a Site audit configuration.

Step 2

Configure consent policies to define the expected loading behavior for each unique consent condition identified.

Step 3

Review and action condition-specific violations of your defined tag consent policy.
