BLUE ASH, OHIO — On April 12, 2020, CEO Alex Yastrebenetsky announced that InfoTrust would be making a “No-Layoff Pledge” to its team members. This promise for no layoffs or furloughs through July 1 quickly gained global attention, with 65 companies across 16 states and 7 countries adopting the promise alongside InfoTrust. (For the full list of companies and details around the initial pledge, visit this article.)
Just 38 days later, Yastrebenetsky shared with the entire InfoTrust team that the No-Layoff Pledge is being extended by 3 months, now expiring on Oct. 1, 2020. The aim of this extension is to provide InfoTrust team members at the company’s Cincinnati, Columbus, Chicago, Toronto, Barcelona, and Dubai offices with some peace of mind (with regards to job security) in an otherwise uncertain period of economic and public health history.
“Our company takes the ‘give to grow’ mentality seriously,” Yastrebenetsky said. “If we are truly to make a continual, positive impact in our communities, though, we must first ensure our employees and their families are taken care of. My hope is that this pledge gives them courage through this unprecedented period, and in turn enables them to make an even larger impact in the communities in which they live and work.”
As with most companies, InfoTrust has not been immune to the economic challenges posed by the past 3 months. Some clients have put work on hold, while others have asked for changes in payment terms. That said, the InfoTrust leadership team also recognizes that the technology space has not been as hard-hit as other industries (such as travel and hospitality); organizations in the hardest-hit sectors may not be able to make such a commitment.
Why Oct. 1, 2020?
In normal circumstances, a pledge like this would certainly not be needed. The hope is that, come October, some sense of normalcy will have returned to the economy, the workday, and our lives, rendering such a pledge unnecessary.
